Slim Thug's comments about black women have been met with a lot of "Oh no he didn'ts" from the race of women he suggested should "bow down" and "start cooking and being down for they man more." While black girls' weaves are in knots over the washed up rapper saying thier "standards are too high right now", let me take a moment to analyze the validity of his seemingly harsh remarks.
"If it aint about money then a lot of (black women) aint fucking with him."
Thugga makes a generalization that many black women are gold diggers. I believe this statement is off. I believe that many women of all races are gold diggers; especially white women. How many white women do you see who are in a relationship with a man because he has a "steady job" as a doctor or lawyer, etc, and can spoil them with Fifth Avenue shopping sprees? How many twenty-something white women do we see with six and seven figure and above white men twice their age? This goes back as far as college years, when most of the sought-after white girls end up dating white guys in the popular frats, which are more often than not the guys with the most money. A white woman's form of "gold-digging" just seems a bit more official and less blatant than a black woman's because white men, in general, have more money. Now of course, these are all generalizations and there are people of all races who do not fit this bill. But my point is, we notice a black woman's gold-digging ways more because, in general, black men have less money, so IT IS A BIGGER DEAL to these men.
With that being said, I don't think gold-digging is right. I understand looking for a man with money that has himself together, but I think this practice has been taken out of context somewhat. Women should seek financial security in a man, with the purpose of knowing he can support her and their children if they start a family. Man's natural role is that of provider. However, a man should not be obligated to provide guap for excessive luxuries such as frequent designer shopping sprees, etc. This to me is the same as a woman taking child support money and using it for herself. I believe in chivalry, and that a man should shower a woman with gifts, but wouldn't these gifts mean more to you women if they were given by a man on his own terms? What if a dude was living from check to check and actually SAVED UP to get you something nice ma? That to me should mean more than a man who has money to blow and does so on you so you'll keep sucking his dick, cooking, and going out on the town with him.
"Black women have to bow down."
This is the statement that caused particular outrage among black women, the act of bowing down to her man like he is her king. Every black woman I have talked to about this agrees Slim Thug was absolutely out of line for this comment. However, a closer look reveals he may not have been as out of line as we think. If you're religious, in Genesis 3:16 God says to Eve on the status of women "Your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you." It seems as if God intended for men to take the dominant role in romantic relationships. If you are not religious, I have another viewpoint that has nothing to do with religion on why Slim Thug's "bow down" comments were not completely out of line. Every relationship has dynamics. Two people in a relationship are not usually exact equals, and things work better like this. In baseball, the catcher tells the pitches what pitch to throw and where , and the pitcher merely throws the pitch. Of course, sometimes the pitcher disagrees and they work it out, but the catcher is clearly defined as the shot-caller. In romantic relationships, I believe it is best served when the man is strong and dominant. The man should lead the way, serving as leader and protector while at the same time compromising and making sure to keep the woman happy. It is no coincidence that women are naturally drawn to strong, confident, decisive men. Most women are turned on by a man who can "put them in their place." I think the problem is, these days, the pussy is on a pedestal. Men are willing to put up with a lot from a woman just to get some ass. Women are not stupid, and realize the power of the P-U-S-S-Y, so they try and take advantage of their power, rather than letting a man play his natural, dominant role. I don't take Slim Thug's "bow down" comments literally, and you should not either. He simply meant a man should be the dominant one in the relationship.
"My white woman is fine. She don’t give me no problems, she do whatever I say and y’all gotta do all that arguing and fighting."
That quote was by Slim Thug's brother about his white girlfriend. What you are seeing is the relationship dynamics I spoke of earlier coming into play. White woman-black man relationships serve as a great example of correct relationship dynamics because, for whatever reason, white woman are always a tiny bit scared of or intimidated by black men. Regardless of his financial background and other factors, a a white woman will more often than not submit to a black man for the simple fact that he is black. This results in the man being the dominant one in the relationship and less complaints all around. No one can deny that more and more white women are becoming open about their attraction toward black men and more and more black men (to the dismay of black women) are dating white girls. And aside from the O.J. Simpson debacle, I haven't heard many complaints from either party.
So, in closing, I think Slim Thug's comments were not well-spoken enough to convey his point effectively. However, the fact remains that black women are continually throwing off the dynamics that best suit a successful relationship.
